DeviantART

So this is what happens when I listen to Amanda... I get a deviantART account. Well, I guess this means I should actually start trying to draw, like she's been bugging me to for the last two years. For now I think I'll just post random poetry, since I'm a writer and not an artist. Now, to test the waters with an oldie...

Phantom’s Lament

Alone in the shadows once again
With the cruel, taunting pain.
These walls of stone are my prison--
my hell... my curse.
In the depths I remain
Only my shattered heart to keep me warm.
Society's cruelty is all I know
For the only love I had is lost.
I shall never trust again
Or leave my heart open to the agony
Of love and passion and tenderness
For they do not belong in my home
Of rats and sorrow and bitterness.
This is my world
The dark and cold;
Alone in my hell
With only my shattered heart to keep me warm.
I turn away from the world above
To remain in my shadow world.
Alone in the cold I will stay
Alone in my hell I shall despair.
